Well, I just got a 14 day trial key for CoV in my email today so I'll be on soon. Since I'm in Nashville, tho, I don't have Vent here so I'll be forced to type everything out.

Man, I don't know what's up. I've DLed the game twice now and both times the DL just hangs at 1.7gigs (of 1.9gigs). I've reset the modem, router and computer, same thing everytime.
Edit: Third time is not the charm. Still hanging at 1.7gigs on the DL with 5 minutes (of over an hour an a half total) remaining. I've come to accept that for whatever reason, I can't play thru the DL of the game. Since I've already activated my key I'll only have a few days to play once I get back to Memphis. Goddamn I hate NCSoft.

Just wait, it stopped on mine for a second like that as well. Then it after a little bit, it finished.

If it was just a pause like that, I would have no problem. I let it sit there over night and it was still in the same spot when I woke up. The countdown timer never moved and the progress bar never went up. I don't think I'll get to play from here, for whatever reason.

Incidentally, was there enough hard drive space left to install the game? You need about 5 gigs free. The progres bar is for both the download and install. Once it reaches the point you were at, it begins to install. If it doesn' thave enough HDD space, then it's going to hang forever. |

Ok, I'm not Carl. I don't make obvious mistakes like that.  (or dumb ones like banning yourself from a server with your own admin powers) Of course I tried all the obvious things, disk space, rebooting pc, router, modem, allowing complete access thru firewalls, disabling firewalls, I've even done everything there is on the "known problems" with the CoH updater list to try and fix it, clearing my dns log, everything. Nothing works. It always hangs at 1.7 of 1.9gigs DLed, never even gets to the install part... |
