I had a ton of fun on the stress test with you guys this weekend. If I come across another beta key, I'll hand it out. I've seen screenshots of the monster characters and they look awesome! I can't wait to start monster raids! Until then, here's a nice shot of a quest you do later on involving Frodo:

Bleh. Takes more than sweet graphics to make a good game.

I took one look at it and immediately uninstalled it.

I'm playing on Meneldor now. I'm a low level burglar. So far sneak is pretty cool. I can get into some areas that I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be in. Lets me complete "find this" quests pretty quick.

Edited out my long ass reply and pruned the thread...the thread's not a flame war. To contribute to the thread: Last night I played for a few hours and did a few quests in Hobbiton. I joined a group called the "Bounders" in Hobbiton. And so far, the quests are pretty cool. Other than just "Go here, and kill X" there are quests where you help the hobbits set up for Billbo's party. In one quest, I was delivering pies to the party and I had a certain time limit before the pies got "too cold". Also, to make matters worse, you can't fight while you're carrying a pie (it actually shows you holding the pie out in front of you with both hands), AND there's several hobbits walking around that are always , so you've got to keep the pies out of sight from them. Another quest I had, was to grab a bunch of chicken eggs from chicken nests without letting the rooster see me (because it would crow really loud and scare the chickens and me, making me drop the eggs I'd collected). So far it's a pretty awesome game. I'm going to be getting the lifetime founder membership and never have to pay again.

Looks like World of Warcraft to me. What company makes this game? I seems to have the exact same types of missions, UI, and everything.

Turbine. I think it was the same team that did DDO.

Turbine did do D&D:Online. No, the quests are not very similar to WoW, no more so than the quests in WoW are similar to the quests in Final Fantasy 7. I mean, there is a standard on quests usually, be it Pen and Paper or a video game... Take this to this, get this from this, kill this and get this, or find this and return this. Usually one of those types, there are many cool and unique quests and ideas in this game that seperate it from any other out there. Particularly, the instance quests in this game are very very nice, rich scripting/dialog. Very nice mini-cutscenes, and static occurances. For instance, the first Instance quest for the elves, you have to go through this old dwarven hall looking thing. It is humongous, and you are climbing the stairs on the side of a tower, which you can fall from and die....ask craig...or was that carl? At another point, lightning starts crashing into the ground, right at your feet. Then you have to fight some bosses in there. It is very appealing graphically speaking, and has a very good sense of originality. ;-)

Nope, only Craig would be drunk enough from his Miller Lite to fall off a cliff in a game. ;D And yes, that was an amazing instance. . . I loved the special effects

I know Turbine did DDO. I was saying I think it was the same development team within Turbine that made DDO that also made LotRO.
