How do I connect to the server?
Currently, Scarn is set to go online on Memorial Day weekend 2008. Until then, stay tuned to the forums here and make some suggestions!
If you're here and reading this, that means you've taken the first step into helping us make this server the best possible environment for all of our players! Read the forum threads, comment on what you do and don't want to see in the server. This is the time to get your voice in the development of a new world!
Why NWN1 and not NWN2?
This is mostly due to preference and engine limitations. The Persistent World support for NWN1 is simply better than it is for NWN2.
What's Scarn offer that most other NWN servers don't offer?
Well, aside from a host of code changes and unique abilities and subraces, Scarn offers its players a way to change the world they play in! The landscape of Scarn is always under development, and the world changes based on player's decisions. If you want to accomplish something, with enough determination, you can!
What else?
Scarn offers a wide range of subraces, with more to come:
And...?
Also, Scarn features some new spells for classes, and some great changes to old spells:
Animate Dead: This spell has changed to allow the caster to cast the spell on the dead corpse of an enemy, and acutally raise that enemy up to be his undead minion. No more summoning skeletons out of thin air, the Necromancer acutually raises the dead around him!
(Coming soon!)Illusionists: Illusionist function in a very similar fashion to the Necromancers. The Illusionist needs to have Spell Focus: Illusion and Greater Spell Focus: Illusion to become an Illusionist. Once those feats are taken, the Illusionist gets a new item (an Illusion manual) and can cast his Illusionary creatures from that. The Illusionary creatures are basically henchmen that are exactly like their live counterparts. However, when confronted with an enemy, the enemy gets a will save to see through the illusion. If he succeeds, the creatures are dispelled.
Yeah...but what ELSE?
One word...UNDERMOUNTAIN. That's right, Undermountain, just like you remember it, directly from the 2nd edition guide book in all of it's glory...Undermountain is HERE.
These are just a FEW of the features of Scarn. To really get an understanding of the server and the way things work, you'd just have to try for yourself!
What do I need to play? You'll need:
The hak files and tlk file located here: tinyurl.com/y8bosjqj
Hak files go into your NWN/hak folder, and the tlk file goes into your NWN/tlk folder. Enjoy!
