In an effort to balance the Cleric class in the low magic world of Scarn, the way Clerics cast spells was adjusted. A Cleric casting Turn Undead, must have his holy symbol equipped in his hand. This symbol takes up the shield slot of the character, and only needs to be out during the casting of the spell. All Clerics begin play with a holy symbol item in their inventory.
