Hello all. I saw nodata's post about Scarn on the SA forum boards and having long been a fan of NWN persistent worlds decided to come and check it out.
I decided to roll a minotaur monk and started in the Orc faction area. I managed to make some progress with him, but I have a few complaints:
- The orc faction merchants are way too miserly, I get only a 1/4th the amount of gold as the human starter merchant when selling items to them.
- The maps around the orc faction tend to be a bit over-sized and relatively light on encounters. I'd trim them down a bit in size.
- There's very little gear to choose from, my monk has been running around basically naked for 5 levels now.
Obviously it's kind of an off-kilter character, so it's going to be harder than usual, but at the point where I am now, having lost my income from wolf pelts. I'm actually losing money faster than I'm making it since it usually takes 1-2 medpacks to clear most encounters in my explorations.

Have you tried the wolf cave?

Yep, using that I ground my way up to level 5, but once you're cut off from the pelt bounty, I'm kind of stuck in terms of where to transition next for income.
The amazing nudist method doesn't work so well when your new options for leveling are ogres and hook horrors that hit for between 15-24 damage a whack.
Perhaps if I'd gone with a standard fighter I'd be better off, oh well.

The orc holes lead all over the entire world. Orcs literally have the best options for leveling.

While they don't give you much gold when you sell them items, they also have the cheapest prices for just about anything. Especially armor. I guess that doesn't help your naked monk much though...
