I've had this game for years (Ever since the X-Men 2 movie came out) and have just never bothered to install it. I got bored last night (nobody was on the DoD:S server I usually play on) and got around to installing it and playing it. Now, before I begin, let me just say that I wouldn't reccomend playing the game without a controller. Even while using mine, I still had a FEW control problems (mostly with the camera).
Anyway, on with the good stuff!
For ANY Wolverine fan, this game fucking ROCKS. It's 100% true to the comics. And as a huge Tenchu fan, the stealth aspect of it just made me drool. I've only played through the first 2 levels, so I've still got lots more to see. But here's a few of the features:

For ANY Wolverine fan, this game fucking ROCKS. It's 100% true to the comics. And as a huge Tenchu fan, the stealth aspect of it just made me drool. I've only played through the first 2 levels, so I've still got lots more to see. But here's a few of the features:
- You can fight with or without your claws out. You can pull them out at will. While they're out, you do more damage (duh) and can slice through some walls/doors to gain access to hidden areas.
- Why would you ever want to put them away? Well, instead of using health "potions", ofcourse, Wolverine regenerates. But, too keep some game balance in, he regenerates slowly, and even then, only if his claws aren't out. You'd think, "Well, I'll just put my claws away and wait it till I'm back at full health." But there's a catch...part of the plot of the story is that you're running on limited time, so every minute counts!
- Stealth: I mentioned the stealth aspect of the game eariler, and let me go deeper here: You have 2 stealth keys. While you're in stealth mode, Wolverine creeps around corners and moves really slowly. If you walk up to an enemy in stealth mode, and they don't see you, you can make a special stealth kill against them. And let me tell you, Wolvie doesn't hold anything back on the stealth kills. What's REALLY great is that I've made TONS of different stealth kills against enemies. It seems that as long as you approach them from a different angle, the stealth kills are different. There's even some kills that use the objects around Wolverine (trucks, boxes, pipes, tankers, etc) as part of the kill. Hell, there's even stealth kills for multiple enemies at once!
- Combat: The combat system took me a bit to get used to. You've got punch (with or without claws), and kick. Holding away from your opponent blocks for you, and when you're in combat with an opponent, you're locked onto him. What sucks is that you can't be locked on to more than one opponent at once. What's makes up for that is that you can take out multiple opponents if you can position them right with special "strike" moves that you earn through the game. To get a "Strike" move off, your enemies have to be in a particular position of each other, then you get a "Strike!" icon. Hit attack when that icon pops up and you do the strike move. Sorta like a stealth kill but they don't kill instantly on some enemies, but do a TON of damage.
- Heightened Senses: WOW....just...wow. Wolverine has some pretty damn cool senses. Holding down the "Sense" button will trigger your heightened senses. In this mode, the screen changes color (to like a sepia color) and all of the background noise fades out (so you're only hearing the enemies moving, breathing, talking, etc). Also, all of the enemies are highlighted in red during this time, AND their footprints show up on the ground in areas they've walked in recently. ALSO, depending on which way the air is circulating in the level, the enemies leave pheramone trails that you can follow right to them. And when they're scared (if they've seen you before), they produce a TON of pheramones.
Anyway, the game rocks.
