0.0.0 "This is nothing. Wait until we reach the Swamp of Ghosts..."
It's been days since they've fed you. The Orcs of Lede aren't known for their kindness to prisoners and they're definitely not making your party the exception.
You've been caged in their prisoner's carts for days. For the past week, you've known nothing but the pain of starvation and the constant garble of the orcish tongue. But that's not to say the Orcs are without compassion. Occasionally, they will hurl at you the carcasses and innards of their latest hunting expedition, too bad most of what they're willing to "share" is either the raw flesh of some Human or Halfling, unlucky enough to cross the Orcs path, or some material that you've yet to identify, but are SURE it's somehow related to dung...neither, ofcourse, are edible.
How did it come to this? A week ago (Has it been that long?) you were on a quest to investigate a strange illness breeding amongst the Orcs. An emissary of their ilk, came to your group, begging for your help. When you discovered the illness was an ancient magical curse, just now coming to afflict the orcish people, it was too late. The Orc Shaman wasn't pleased with your findings (and to this day you still believe he was responsible for bringing the curse to fruition...), and he turned you in for charlatans to the Orcish military...
Now you're off to some distant mine, slaves to your Orc masters...
But something more sinister brews...

The sky grows dark with the coming of a storm. The air is cold and damp and the thunder grows louder with each Boom resounding closer and closer to the last. Though no rain has yet fallen, you can feel that it's only a matter of time before the sky must surely give way to a massive downpour.
The Orcs choose this time to build camp for the night. Within minutes you find yourself trying to, once again, block out the screams of the Orcs' latest vicitim, slowly roasting over their campfire.
But this night brings something new...A cry to arms breaks out amongst the Orcs just seconds before a very large stream of Acid rains down upon the campfire (and the orcs too slow to escape the rain of death). Their screams are quickly lost admist the chaos and war cries of the rest of the tribe, scrambling to defend the encampment against this threat.
Seconds before the campfire's flames are extinquished by blood and acid, you could swear to have seen the shadowy form of a coal-colored...dragon! As you begin to control your fear you notice that a splash of acid has all but melted the lock to your cage-on-wheels! Just a sprints distance away...you see the same fortune has smiled upon the cart containing your equipment!
What do you do?
NOTE: None of you have any of your items, or even your clothes. You're all dressed in the rags the orcs have given to you. Any memorized spells have been similarly exhaused in your feeble (but noble) attempt to keep from becoming prisoners. Your equipment still exists in the overturned cart though...a sprints distance away. You are all sharing the same (now unlocked) prison cart. The terrain here (though dark) "feels" wet...like a marshland.
NOTE: For future reference, when I ask "what do you do?" I am prompting the players to make a decision about how they will act. In situations such as these, you are not limited to merely deciding to fight, as combat has not yet started. You may initiate combat, parlay, perform a skill, flee, or do whatever you think would be most appropriate given the situation. Otherwise if you are forced into combat by someone either confronting or directly attacking you, I will roll initiative for all characters involved in the combat without you having any say-so.
Also, it would be a good idea to ask your fellow players what they think you should do before you decide to act. Try to remember that you act as team.

0.0.1 "This is too good a chance to pass up..." rumbled Wulfgar. Fate, or the fickle god that someone in the cart must worship, had really left him little choice. In one fluid motion, Wulfgar rolled over and smashed open the cage door with a savage thrust of his legs. He followed the momentum of his kick out of the cage, into the night, and across the ground toward the equipment cart.

0.0.2 In a less brutal manor, Forland followed. He quickly, yet gracefully climbed out of the wagon-cage. Peering around to make certain there were no enemies he silently slipped across the road to his precious spell books and other possessions, making sure to stay out of the wild man's way.

0.0.3 "The night is treacherous, if we do not regain ourselves, death will consume us all!" Neeola proclaimed. Quickly leaping from the foul stench of the cart, she follows closely behind the others.

0.0.4 You all find your way across the make-shift orcish camp, occasionally having to step over half-melted orcish corpses. In the distance, just outside of the ring of wagons and carts, you can hear cries of war and pain. A draconic roar nearly shakes you off your feet, as the ground beneath you rocks in a quake.
The Orcs of Lede pay you no heed, as they either charge off into the darkness beyond the carts, or run screaming in terror. The smell of pickled orc's flesh wafts thru the camp on a powerful wind, pushing inward to the camp by massive wings flapping somewhere in the darkness.
Your equipment remains intact in the fallen cart, and you each gather up what you can...you know it's only a matter of time though, before that dragon runs out of orcs to kill...
You all have your equipment now, however, any armor that cannot be easily gotten into will take some time to don. What now? Keep in mind that if you wish to use any skills or anything, to post it in plain text below your bold Flavor text.

0.0.5 The very muscle and tendons in his arm welcomed the feel of Wulgar’s sword in his grasp. He quickly and efficiently donned the mail shirt and weaponry, casting quick glances in the direction of the dragon’s slaughter of the orcs. His heart pounded in his chest, his blood fueling a desire to rage headlong into the battle. There can be no more noble or challenging opponent than dragon. Even as the sound of the carnage reached his ears, he knew, with a certainty that could challenge the faith of even a cleric, that he was destined to one day pit his skill, his strength, his steel, against one of the magnificent race.
Today was not that day.
“The dragon will not care whether or not we are orcs.” Wulfgar said to his companions as he pulled the last buckle on his sword belt taught. “We must leave this place and find shelter, fast. But I cannot suffer any of these things to live after this loathsome indignity!” With that he drew his bastard sword and charged toward the closest orc, swinging his blade savagely.
I pull my weapon, and attack the closest orc, as many times and as hard as I can.
initiative bonus: 7 AC: 19 Current HP: 13
Attacking with the bastard sword, (1d10+4) with one hand, and shield in the other

0.0.6 Aeranin awoke to the stench of death and cries of battle all around him. Quickly he surveyed the area and realized that the looming black dragon certainly couldn't be dealt with by the orcs or his party. Noticing his companions were no longer encaged, he judiciously made his way over to his group as a bellowing Wulfgar charged headlong into battle with a nearby orc. "Just like a human!" he thought. "Completely lacking the finesse of an Elven warrior". But, then again, in the back of his mind, Aeranin knew that Wulfgar may not be the smartest, but he his methods were decisively quick and effective.
I pick up all of my equipment and parlay any other actions.

0.0.7 Forland grabs his equipment and other items from the cart and stands. Looking around he laughs heartily as he sees Wulfgar charge an orc. Shrugging, he dives under the wagon they were caged on and wait out the battle.
I shouldn't have to roll hide check if no one is actively looking for me, but just in case, +3.

0.0.8 Neeola gathered her belongings and followed closely behind Wulfgar. Looking around often she felt as though someone or something had been watching their every move.
I am picking up my equipment. Putting on my armor. I ready my bow and follow Wolfgar.

0.0.9 Wulfgar and Neeola: Through the mist of boiling flesh, pickled corpses and smoldering fire, you search in earnest for what remains of your captors. Most of the orc cries trail off in the distance as the battle, going on beyond the circle of carts, begins to fade. Suddenly, the smoke and mist trails away in a gust of wind (Somewhere in the distance, the dragon has taken flight again...). Wulfgar feels a shearing pain course through his leg as an orc's dagger rends flesh from the bone of his ankle! Looking down, you realize one of the orcs you had once thought to be a nothing more than a blistered corpse, bears life and hate within its veins!
With a snarl in his voice the orc musters a single phrase in the common tongue "Die Slaves!"
Looking through the fading mist over the "corpses," you notice several of the burned orcs are rising to their feet to make SURE you share their doom!
Forland and Aeranyn: You see Wulfgar and Neeola trail off into the mist and smoke of the camp, weapons at the ready, hunting your captors. The cries of orcs in the distance are all that keep you company as the pitch black of the night settles in. The mist and smoke of the smouldering fires grow thick, blocking out most of the light from the camp and moon. In the darkness, you have only the cries of the orcs beyond, and the beat of your heart to keep you company.
Without warning a bloody hand grips Forland's leg! Slowly bringing gruesome teeth into his flesh, an orc, burned and half-melted, speaks from what's left of his throat, in the orcish language: "Finish me..."
Orcs surprise the party: Init roll 20! Orc hit's Wulfgar with dagger for 4 points of damage. Orc hit's Forland with teeth 2 points of damage.
From here on out we will follow initiative. The order is as follows:
Orcs (already done this round) Neeola: Init roll 16+4=20 Wulfgar: Init roll 10+7=17
Normally, when combat takes place, I will roll init for everyone at the beginning of combat. Then you may post in order of your inits highest to lowest. Following EACH player's post, I will make a detail post telling the results of your actions, then the next player may post. However, this time the orcs surprised the party, and since they are zombie orcs, they will always go last. So the party is free to post in any order as long as nobody misses a post. (ie Nobody loses a turn)
Neeola: You feel as though these orcs are being forced back to life thru some sort of evil power...they are zombie orcs!
Neeola's Knowledge Undead roll (with a +4 bonus): 11+4=15 (success)

0.0.10
He winced at the sting in his leg, and sliced downward toward the soon-to-be orc corpse, speeding it along its path to oblivion. He could hardly stop now to tend his wound. He was consumed by the desire to see orc blood wash across the dirt; to crush his enemies, see them driven before him, and to hear the lamentation of their women! Into the darkness, into the stench, into the fuming, rancid battle he pressed.
duh, I'm gonna hit him. of course whenever I happen to get a turn that is.

0.0.11 There is a muffled gurgle as the undead orc's skull falls apart...driven in half by Wulfgar's blade. It's hand loosens on it's dagger and falls, once again, lifeless to the ground. The other zombies take no heed of their comrade's demise. They continue to shamble toward the mighty warrior, in a patient dance of death...
Wulfgar rolls: 12+6=18 HIT! damage=(1d10)+4=9, The orc dies...again.
There are 3 more within sight, all moving toward you and Neeola. From this point on, the orcs will be going LAST in init, since they are zombies, moving slowly.

0.0.12 Forland, angry at himself for not paying more attention to his surroundings, shouts, "Calash!" in a voice sounding ominously deep-throated and loud, and his staff flares to light as puts the tip of it right in front of the zombie's eyes. He then tries to scramble out from the other side of the wagon. Making sure to look for other zombies that might be in his path.
I'm trying to momentarily stun him with the light to loosen or break his grip.
